Why does some imported mail show the wrong date?
It should not, and if it does the import has a bug worth reporting.
Imported mail keeps the date it originally arrived. If a message shows today’s date, something went wrong with the import rather than with your mailbox.
Tell your administrator and include the subject line of one affected message. The import keeps a report of what it copied, folder by folder, and they can see whether that message is in it.
Nothing is lost when this happens — the message is there and the original date is still inside the message itself.
